Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz is ruled out of the Arabian GP and will undergo appendicitis surgery this Friday or as soon as he returns to Spain. He will be replaced by Ollie Bearman who will make his F1 debut. Bearman will be the youngest Ferrari driver ever, at just 18 years and 306 days old.
Carlos returned to the hotel on Thursday after a relatively calm day, despite feeling fatigued. The medications appeared to be effective. However, he had a rough night from Thursday to Friday as his fever persisted.
That's why he headed to the hospital early on Friday morning to determine the cause of the fever.
After undergoing tests, it was discovered that Carlos Sainz had appendicitis along with food poisoning. He is still deliberating on the location for his surgery, debating between Saudi Arabia and Spain. Regardless, the Spaniard will need to have surgery promptly to prevent peritonitis.
