The Buffalo Bills have had a hectic week in the midst of a challenging 2023 season. Head coach Sean McDermott has been under criticism for a contentious team meeting in 2021, and Buffalo's 6-6 record has them on the outside looking in for the AFC playoffs.
However, the ongoing Von Miller drama has put Buffalo in an awkward situation with their star pass-rusher. Miller missed practice on Wednesday but returned on Thursday, giving reporters the opportunity to question him about the felony accusation he faces in Texas for allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.
Despite being contacted by reporters at his locker at the Bills' Orchard Park facility, Miller declined to comment on the claims.
Miller surrendered to authorities in Dallas suburbs last Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Miller is accused of wrapping his hands around his pregnant girlfriend's neck for three to five seconds and pulling her hair and pushing her as he sought to persuade her to leave the apartment they share.
Miller was soon freed after posting a $5,000 bond and returning to Buffalo to prepare for this Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Miller was granted a veteran's maintenance day on Wednesday and did not practice, but he returned to the field on Thursday and looked to go about his business.
The Bills have insisted that Miller would continue to play for them, assuming his innocence until (or if) he is found guilty. Miller could face up to ten years in jail and a hefty fine for the alleged attack. Authorities and the NFL are still looking into the incident.
