Real Madrid will make a January transfer bid for Kylian Mbappe. Local press has suggested in recent weeks that Erling Haaland is a viable option to the French superstar, but they will make an effort to recruit him.
According to Diario AS, Real Madrid will make an offer to Mbappe on January 1st, the first eligible date with fewer than six months left on his contract. They will then allow him two weeks, until January 15th, to accept their offer.
Mbappe previously refused to sign anything to retain connections with PSG in 2021, when Los Blancos believed they had a deal in place, but this time they would not accept anything other than a signed contract.
If Mbappe delays or rejects the offer, Real Madrid would transfer their focus to Haaland, whom they have been in talks with since his hugely successful move to Manchester City.
Haaland's camp has apparently been instructed by him not to rule out a move to Real Madrid, and there are plenty of reasons to believe he would suit there as well. Not only is he a genuine number nine, which would suit better with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, but Mbappe's arrogance is now an issue for Los Blancos to consider. However, it is difficult to envisage Real Madrid abandoning Mbappe after a nearly decade-long pursuit.
