Dallas, Texas - April 16, 2024 - Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is facing serious legal repercussions following a multi-vehicle crash that occurred in Dallas last month. The incident has resulted in a lawsuit against Rashee Rice and legal charges with potential prison time.

According to Fox 4 Kansas City, Rashee Rice, along with SMU cornerback Theodore Knox, are being sued for $1 million in a Dallas County lawsuit. The Rashee Rice lawsuit, filed by Irina Gromova and Edvard Petrovskiy, seeks compensation for the injuries they sustained during the crash. The court documents detail the severity of the injuries. This included "trauma to the brain, lacerations to the face requiring stitches, multiple contusions about the body, disfigurement, internal bleeding and other internal and external injuries that may only be fully revealed over the course of medical treatment."

The arrest warrant reveals that Rice is facing eight charges for his involvement in the accident. These charges include six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving severe bodily injury, and one count of aggravated assault. If found guilty on all charges, Rice could face up to 35 years in prison..

The police investigation indicates that Rice was driving at a speed significantly exceeding the posted limit. According to the arrest warrant affidavit, his speed was recorded at a staggering 119 miles per hour just before the crash. Furthermore, authorities discovered 10.8 grams of marijuana in the vehicle Rice was driving. This potentially adding a Class B misdemeanor charge punishable by up to 180 days in jail.
