Pep Gurdiola denied all Erling Haaland fears, calming all Manchester City fans from a possible Word Cup Club edition without star Striker Haaland.
Guardiola has allayed worries that Erling Haaland may miss the Club World Cup by assuring the striker has not broken his foot.
The Norwegian striker was forced to miss Sunday's 2-1 win against Luton Town due to injury, only weeks after sustaining a knock on international duty, and Guardiola disclosed that the 23-year-old has been suffering from a "bone stress reaction."
The City coach will be glad to learn that there was no fracture, which might have kept him out for weeks, but he may have to miss their next league game against Crystal Palace.
The issue was discovered after City's midweek loss to Aston Villa, according to the manager. "The day after he almost could not walk properly," he went on to say.
The treble champions have two more games before heading to Saudi Arabia, with Crvena Zvezda up next in the Champions League in four days and Palace visiting the Etihad Stadium on December 16.
"I spoke with him yesterday, and he said he was feeling much, much better, and that he could walk without pain." The doctor says we'll have to wait and watch how things go week by week, day by day.
Guardiola also revealed that Julian Alvarez, who hasn't scored in the league since October, will lead the line in Haaland's absence.
City had to come from behind to beat Luton Town at Kenilworth Road, with goals from midfield duo Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish completing the comeback after Elijah Adebayo's opening.
The success ends City's four-game winless streak and puts them in contention for the championship, albeit Guardiola's men are four points behind leaders Liverpool with 16 games remaining.
