The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Utah Jazz 147-97, thanks to Luka Doncic's historic 60th career triple-double. However, the victory was tarnished by a taunting incident in which Kris Dunn challenged Doncic, resulting in technical fouls for both players.
The altercation began in the third quarter when Dunn, who was assigned to guard Doncic, took issue with the latter's movements. Doncic responded by laughing provocatively at Dunn, resulting in the technical fouls.
"I didn't do nothing he just mad I'm busting his a**," Doncic told the referees.
Despite the disturbance, Doncic delivered a tremendous performance, scoring 40 points, dishing out 11 assists, and grabbing 10 rebounds in 31 minutes.
"He puts a finger in my face and I just left so I don't know how I got the tech. I don't know. These things happen in the game. It's part of the game." Doncic explained to press.
His performance of a triple-double at halftime was particularly significant, since it was the fifth-fastest in NBA history and the first to record a 25-point triple-double before the break. Kyrie Irving and Tim Hardaway Jr. also contributed significantly, with 26 and 17 points, respectively.
On the other side, Ochai Agbaji led the Jazz with 21 points, while Dunn had eight. The Mavericks will play the Portland Trail Blazers on December 8 and the Memphis Grizzlies three days later.
