The pre-fight fireworks for UFC 296: Edwards vs. Covington were just as explosive as the main event promises to be, with tensions soaring just two days before the big clash at T-Mobile Arena with Covington called a Drag Queen by Edwards and a water bottle thrown at him.

Colby Covington, known for his brash persona and penchant for provocation, attempted a pre-fight stunt that backfired spectacularly. Emerging on stage clad in a blue coat, white wig, and his signature MAGA hat, Covington aimed to poke fun at Leon Edwards' British heritage, asking, "Where's your red coat?".

Edwards, ever the composed counterpunch, dismissed Covington's attempt with a swift and unexpected jab. "The guy came here dressed like a f*cking drag queen," Edwards quipped, sending shockwaves through the press conference.

Covington, momentarily caught off guard, attempted to deflect with a jab at Edwards' education, stating, "Of course you don't know what I'm going for. You need to graduate elementary school first. You're a f*cking idiot."

The tense exchange culminated in a thrown water bottle from Edwards, narrowly missing Covington before security intervened. While the press conference ended abruptly, the stage is set for an explosive main event on Saturday night.
