Bronny James made his USC college debut on Sunday, coming off the bench nearly five months after suffering cardiac arrest and making a massive block in front of father Lebron James.

James had six minutes of playing time in the first half, when the Trojans led 45-30 at the intermission. James made a tremendous block on Jadon Jones, who was rushing to the hoop on a fastbreak, in his second three-minute stint. The Galen Center audience erupted, while James' father, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, stood courtside.

A standing ovation greeted James USC debut

Around seven minutes into the first half, James joined the game, with several in the audience rising and cheering making a worthy Ovation for the young James. Bronny James debut made a noise after his helath issues and Lebron's In Season Tournament win. His first shot, a 3-point effort, was a miss. He had just tipped the ball away from a Long Beach State player, but the visitors recovered it. The Beach's possession resulted in a shot-clock violation. James also got a rebound.

LeBron James arrived seconds before the national anthem, holding hands with his 9-year-old daughter, Zhuri, and tapping his son's back as he passed the Trojans lined up across the court for the song.

The NBA had a strong presence in the game. DJ Rodman, Dennis Rodman's son, is one of James' teammates. Chayce Polynice, the son of 15-year NBA player Olden Polynice, is on the Beach's roster.

90 minutes before tipoff, James joined his teammates for on-court warmups. He took a variety of jumpers while wearing a white USC shirt and red sweatpants in front of a baseline full of cameras.

Bronny James Cardiac Arrest

On July 20, James went into cardiac arrest after a workout at Galen Center. He was discovered to have a curable congenital cardiac abnormality.

James' physicians and the medical team at USC just approved him to engage in full-contact practice. He had previously been restricted to working out on his own, including weights, cardio, and shooting.
