Bayer Leverkusen Complete Dramatic Comeback Over Qarabag

Bayer Leverkusen produced a stunning comeback win over Qarabag FK in the UEFA Europa League round of 16 second leg on Thursday, emerging victorious 3-2 on the night and 5-4 on aggregate.

From the Brink of Defeat to a Glorious Victory 

The German side found themselves staring down the barrel of elimination after conceding two goals before the 67th minute. However, they displayed incredible fighting spirit to turn the tide in dramatic fashion.

Jeremie Frimpong ignited the comeback in the 72nd minute, pulling Leverkusen back into the game with a crucial goal. This ignited the BayArena crowd and instilled renewed belief in the Leverkusen players.

Schick Seals the Win for BAYER LEVERKUSEN

Substitute Patrik Schick then emerged as the hero for Leverkusen. In the dying moments of the match, with the score still level at 2-2, Schick struck twice. His first came in the 92nd minute, restoring parity for the home side.

Unrelenting in their pursuit of victory, Leverkusen continued to push forward. Their persistence paid off in the 97th minute, as Schick rose to the occasion once again. He headed home the winner, sending the BayArena into a frenzy and securing Leverkusen's passage to the quarter-finals.

Unbeaten Run Extends 

This remarkable comeback victory not only sees Leverkusen progress in Europe, but also extends their unbeaten run to a staggering 37 games in all competitions. Qarabag, on the other hand, are left to rue their missed opportunity, exiting the Europa League at the hands of a determined Leverkusen side.
